BGSU is honoring veterans by showcasing local businesses run by those who have served, and highlighting how they are supporting the community.
The Office of Nontraditional and Military Student Services at BGSU is collaborating alongside the Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership to host a panel of veteran business owners who will share their experiences in entrepreneurship.
The panel will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 12 in the BTSU multipurpose room from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Carlos Zaragoza, Military Community Advocate at BGSU, explains that the event is meant not only to highlight veteran owned businesses, but to show support for veteran students at BGSU.
“My job as an MCA (military community advocate) is to make events and reach out to the veteran students, and to provide them with the resources they need to be successful,” he said.
The event will highlight the entrepreneurship program at BGSU, which provides students with resources for starting their own businesses.
“The entrepreneurship office is something that I really want to see grow as well. We’re coordinating with them, and I really encourage students to reach out to them,” Zaragoza said.
All students and faculty can fill out the RSVP form before attending the event.
