Earlier today, the United Soccer Coaches and Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) announced the 15 men’s semifinalists for the 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy, with BGSU men’s soccer’s Kyle Cusimano making the list.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual award in NCAA men’s soccer.
“Falcon Soccer Nation is incredibly proud of Kyle and this well-deserved recognition,” said BGSU head coach Eric Nichols. “Kyle is a remarkable player and leader who has consistently demonstrated that he belongs among college soccer’s elite.”
Cusimano, the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Defender of the Year, appeared in 79 games with 78 starts during his five-year career with the Falcons, tied for 11th most in program history.
The Bay Village native scored ten goals and recorded 13 assists, playing multiple positions throughout his collegiate career.
Cusimano helped the Orange and Brown to six shutouts this season and was also named to the All-MVC First Team.
The three finalists for the award will be named on Wednesday, Dec. 18, which will be voted by the NCAA Division I coaches who are a part of the United Soccer Coaches.
On Jan. 3, 2025, the 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy winner will be announced via a press conference at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
