Resources on and off campus help to provide students dealing with food insecurity with nutritious food and household items.
An on campus resource for students is the Falcon Food Pantry. The food pantry located in Central Hall is now back open for the spring semester. The pantry is open Monday and Thursday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., and Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The pantry is available for all BGSU students and faculty, and provides food as well as hygiene items. Anyone is welcome to stop by the pantry once a week.
Some local churches in Bowling Green can help to provide students with food and necessities for those who need assistance. The United Methodist Church, located at 1526 E. Wooster St., provides food assistance for the community.
Another local church with an open food pantry is St. Aloysius Church, located on 150 S Enterprise St. The food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Nonperishable food items are also available at St. Thomas More University Parish. The pantry is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 425 Thurstin Ave.
The BG Christian Food pantry helps anyone with emergency food needs. Those interested can fill out the form on their website, which includes household information.
Anyone in Wood County is eligible to visit the pantry once a month. The pantry also hosts drive-thru dinners the second Friday of each month from 5-6:00 p.m. for those who would like a warm meal.
The Brown Bag Food Project also provides the community food as well as household necessities. They are located at 530 Sand Ridge Road in Bowling Green.
Residents of Wood County can visit Brown Bag once a month through their drive-thru pantry. The drive-thru is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
