On Monday, Jan. 20, the University is closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. While most consider this to be a day off, the BGSU community uses this day as an opportunity to give back to the community.
Students and members of the community can take part in this public service day and register for a volunteer opportunity on and off campus for BGSU’s MLK Day of Service. To register, visit the BGSU serves website and look through the various volunteer events taking place.
It is encouraged to register before the day of the event. On the day, volunteers will check in at 9 a.m. in the BTSU ballroom, and most service events are planned to be over by 2 p.m. This service day is an opportunity to not only help those in need, but to honor Martin Luther King Jr.
