BGSU men’s soccer and head coach Eric Nichols has started assembling their roster for the 2025 season, adding two players from the transfer portal.
The Falcons have added Danish goalkeeper Casper Madsen from NJCAA’s Angelina College, and German defender Tim Koczulap from Robert Morris University.
Madsen, played one season for the Roadrunners, starting 11 games while making 45 saves on the year, conceding just six goals on the year. He posted a 9-1-1 record in net and finished the season in NJCAA Division I leading the country in save percentage at 88.2%.
With the departure of goalkeepers Brendan Graves and Grant Balcer, Madsen will compete for the number one shirt with redshirt sophomores Jason Ball and Will Schutte.
Koczulap played the past two seasons for Robert Morris, playing 17 games (12 starts), including 15 this past season, scoring two goals and tallying five assists as well. A left-footed defender, Koczulap can play as a left and right-back and was a starter down the stretch of the season for RMU, who won the 2024 Horizon League Tournament.
A native of Berlin, Germany, Koczulap played three seasons in the Bundesliga youth academy.
Bowling Green will get to see Madsen and Koczulap in action during the 2025 College Spring League (CSL), with matchup dates, opponents, and times to be announced.
