Speaker, author, poet, and actor Carlos Andrés Gómez will speak at BGSU, hosted by The Center of Women and Gender Equity.
There will be a moderated panel with Gómez in 203 Hayes Hall on Feb. 6 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. before his show. He will be performing some of his original work in 314 of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union followed by a book signing
Gómez is a Colombian-American poet who has starred in HBO’s Def Poetry Jam and Spike Lee’s #1 box office movie, Inside Man. He has also won various awards, including the 2024 Yeats International Poetry Prize, and has teamed up with John Legend to fight bullying and create a safe environment for boys to become men in high schools.
