Freshman sprinter Erinae Coleman was announced as the Mid-American Conference’s (MAC) Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at last weekend’s Silverston Invitational at the University of Michigan.
Coleman won the 60-meter dash at the competition, running a time of 7.59 seconds in her first race in over a month. Her season best time in the event is 7.47 seconds, the third best time in the MAC this season.
The last time a Falcon won the MAC Track Athlete of the Week award came in February of 2021, when current mid-distance runner and then-sophomore Kailee Perry won the award.
Coleman is also the first freshman to win a MAC Athlete of the Week award under the tenure of head coach Lou Snelling (2011-present).
The award is the final MAC weekly award before the MAC Indoor Championship meet on Feb. 28 and Mar. 1 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
