With Spring Break upon us, midterms are just around the corner at BGSU. Here are some helpful tips to help ace midterms.
Going to study in the library is a quiet place to focus and concentrate – The Jerome Library is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. On the first floor there is a large study space with study rooms, atrium and the marketplace.
The seventh floor is another place to study with booths to sit at and group seating if students have study buddies. The eighth floor is quiet in the library where students can read and learn without loud noises.
Brain food for studying – If students need brain food to help them focus, places the Oaks, Carillon and the Student Union are available on-campus options. The Oaks is open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with Friday being 7:30 to 8 p.m., the Carillon is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the union is open at 10:30 a.m. with different closing times for each food court. Grab some food and study for midterms.
Caffeine fuel – Students sometimes need coffee to survive the week of midterms, which is why there is a campus Starbucks. Starbucks is open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday, and on Friday, they are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Starbucks has many tables to study in groups or by yourself. Starbucks also has some food as well if students need food with their coffee. If students need some noise to study the coffee machine, music and chatter at Starbucks will be the perfect place to study.
Residence hall resources – Another place to study is students’ very own dorms. Students can either study in their dorms or the study rooms in their dorms.
Studying in student’s dorms has benefits with being familiar with where they are, as well as being able to take break and then jump back into studying. The study room in dorms are nice as well because they are quiet and have computers to work on. Study rooms are in almost every dorm.
