The BGSU men’s golf team finished 12th out of 20 teams at the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate in North Carolina.
Bowling Green took a final score of 890 (+26), three spots behind MAC rival Toledo and between Loyola-Chicago (+23) and Georgetown (+29).
Notably, senior Zander Gibson finished sixth overall at 68-71-73 (-4).
He also tied with Darin Hudak for second in par 5’s with a 4.33 stroke average.
Gibson led all golfers with 16 birdies.
Senior Luke Evans also recorded an eagle on hole number five in the first round.
Overall, the Falcons strung together a strong performance but ultimately came up short against stronger programs. The team finished only 15 strokes outside the top five, which included teams like George Mason and Chattanooga.
The Falcons will see their next action at the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate, in South Pittsburgh, Tenn., on March 24-26.
