Jaden Grant, recent alumni of the BGSU hockey program, signed with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye on Wednesday, July 8 via the Walleye’s Instagram. Grant signs for the 2026-27 season during the first offseason following his collegiate hockey career.
A native of White Lake, Michigan, Grant played in over 34 games in each of his four straight seasons as one of Bowling Green’s more reliable starting centermen. His career-high season point total (14) came in 2023-24 as a sophomore, scoring three goals and a team-leading 11 assists.
In his most recent season, the 6-foot-2 forward scored a career-high eight goals. Three came on the powerplay, one shorthanded and three more stood as game-winners. All were career-high marks.
Never known as a true scorer, Grant was at his most successful in the faceoff circles. In both of his final two seasons, he finished top ten in the CCHA in faceoff winning percentage and faceoff wins, and never finished below 21st in either category in his BG career.
Before his Bowling Green tenure, Grant played four seasons of junior hockey in the USHL and NAHL, scoring a total of 70 points in 147 games. In his final season, with Youngstown in the USHL, he nearly doubled his previous junior-career point total with 38 points in 59 games.
His new home with Toledo places him in the affiliates of the NHL Detroit Red Wings and the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins. Among previous CCHA players who played the 2025-26 season as Walleye is Falcon alumni Sam Craggs, along with Reilly Funk, Ryland Mosley, Jed Pietila and Campbell Cichosz.
