A number of upcoming events on and off campus were highlighted at city council last night.
Mayor Richard Edwards discussed his involvement with opening weekend, in which he will be meeting with Mazey and student leaders, where he will be promoting the “golden rule of neighborhood living.”
Edwards will also be attending the welcoming to new students on Friday at 9 p.m.
August 22, The 40th anniversary of the Community Development Block Grant was celebrated by Edwards, who praised its community work.
“CDBG is an important catalyst for community growth,” he said.
City Planning Director Heather Saylor said the draft of the future land use plan is currently on the city website.
City officials will be hearing comments from citizens about future land use on September 3 at 6 p.m. in the Wood County District Public Library.
Volunteers will be cleaning up debris from the demolition of Ridge Elementary, where a park will be developed in the future.
