BGSU softball went to Rosemont, Illinois to open their 2022 campaign in the DePaul Dome Tournament. The Falcons had a good start to the season, as they left Rosemont with a 4-1 record. This included wins over Western Illinois, Eastern Illinois and two wins over Butler. The Falcons’ one loss came in just a 6 inning game against Seattle.

She then went on to only pitch five innings against Eastern Illinois, striking out 10 and only allowing two runs. In her final performance against Butler, she pitched another complete game shutout, striking out nine and this time only allowing one single hit. In those three games, she pitched two complete game shutouts and just allowed two runs in a total of 19 innings. Not only was she getting outs in a hurry, she struck out a combined 33 hitters in three incredible performances.

The Falcons had a .262 team batting average over the weekend. Bailey Sample, Peyton Dolejs and Regan Williamson were some key performers over the weekend. Bailey Sample hit a whopping .462 this weekend getting six hits in 13 at-bats with a total of three doubles. She also drove in five RBI in the tournament.
