Pop sensation Nick Jonas filled the Stroh Center Tuesday night during his performance at the University.
Hours before Nick Jonas had arrived in Bowling Green, fans circled around the Stroh Center to ensure they got the best seats.
After the doors opened at 6 p.m, fans made their way to the head of the stage to run to their seats.
University Activities Organization planned the event and chose Nick Jonas as the performer to come this Spring.
“We came up with a list of artists that we felt would have done well with BG and the students,” Ally Tharrett, Co-Director of UAO entertainment said. “We brought it down to the top three, and Nick Jonas was the one who was willing to come and move things around for us.”
The concert began with performers Emily Hearn and Levi Stephens as Nick Jonas’ opening acts.
Audience members were given orange glow up headbands to wrap around their heads and necks throughout the performances.
Nick Jonas then took the stage after 8:30 and started the concert by playing his single “Chains.”
“I’ve been following Nick Jonas since his Disney Channel days, so seeing him in concert is a dream come true.” University alumnus Max Charney said.
During the concert, Jonas performed many songs off his new album, as well as hits such as “Roses” by Outkast and several country songs.
Many fans sung along as Nick performed one of his older songs “ A Little Bit Longer”, in which he wrote about his feelings with having Type One diabetes.
Throughout the concert, Nick Jonas interacted with the crowd by asking what the best place to go to after the concert in Bowling Green would be, as well as having students do a school cheer.
At the end of the concert, Jonas gave an encore performance to the screaming fans in the audience and sang his hit single “Jealous” that many fans sang along to.
Isabel Souza, University student who is from Brazil explained that the concert really made her want to hear more from Nick Jonas.
“The concert was great,” Souza said. “ I’m not a big fan but I am now, he is cute, sings well and has a lot of charisma.”
After the encore of “Jealous,” students left the Stroh, many hoping to find Nick Jonas after the concert.
Jonas will continue his tour next in New York, where he will be performing in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.
