Women’s golf finishes fifth in invitational

The women’s golf team finished in a fifth-place tie at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational last weekend.

The Falcons shot a 324 on Saturday and a 325 on Sunday for a total of 649.

Shelby Wilson was the top performer for BG, carding a 155 in the two rounds. She finished tied for fourth, a career-best.

Bailey Arnold tied for 22nd place with a 163, and Patricia Holt tied for 29th place with a 164. Amy Ruthenberg and Kelsey Benson tied for 37th, each shooting 167. Benson played as an individual for the tournament.

The University of Indianapolis won the team championship with a score of 626, with Oakland finishing 10 shots back in second. Mid-American Conference rival Ohio University shot a 639 for third.

The MAC Championships begin on Friday, April 27th in Fishers, Ind.
