  • My Favorite Book – Freshwater
If there’s one book that I believe everyone should read once in their life, it’s my favorite book – Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi. From my course, Queer Literature under Dr. Bill Albertini, I discovered Emezi’s Freshwater (2018). Once more, my course, Creative Writing Thesis Workshop under Professor Amorak Huey, was instructed to present our favorite […]

It’s official: GameDay crew to broadcast from the Doyt

ESPN’s College GameDay will be seen live from inside Bowling Green State University’s Doyt Perry Stadium this Saturday.

ESPN commentators Chris Fowler, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit will do their weekly on campus college football show live from 10:30 a.m. to noon. ESPN will also air College GameDay Radio with Dave Revsine and Mel Kiper Jr. live from Doyt Perry Stadium from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The GameDay show will precede BG’s game against Northern Illinois, which is scheduled for 4 p.m. and will be seen live on ESPN2. BG head coach Gregg Brandon is welcoming the GameDay crew to Bowling Green.

“Bring them in, let’s go. The more the merrier, bring them on,” Brandon said.

The Falcons head into Saturday’s game ranked 26th in the ESPN/USA TODAY Coaches poll and 23rd in the Associated Press poll. Northern Illinois is ranked 14th in the Coaches poll and 12th in the AP poll.

“It’s everything that we want. It’s a great team, undefeated, coming into ‘the Doyt,” … If you would have told me that when I got the job that this game was going to be what it is going to be, I would have taken it. It’s just what we want,” Brandon said.

Saturday’s game marks the first time two nationally ranked Mid-American Conference teams have played each other since 17th ranked Miami of Ohio took on 19th ranked Kent State on Nov. 10, 1973.
