Early start sends Falcons soaring, defeat Miami 88-59

BGSU Women’s Basketball took down the Miami Redhawks 88-59 at the Stroh Center on Saturday.

With this win, the Falcons improve to 20-2 overall and 9-1 in MAC play.

Additionally, they extend their win streak to nine games.

The Falcons jumped out to an early start, leading 27-13 in the first quarter.

Bowling Green maintained their lead throughout the night, avoiding any chance of Miami being on top.

The Falcons put up an impressive offensive performance, going 10 for 25 from three-point range, 33 for 73 from the field, and 3 for 4 from the free throw line.

BG forward Allison Day led the team in scoring on the evening with 27 points, going 12 for 18 from the field.

BG guards Elissa Brett and Nyla Hampton netted 14 each for the Falcons, with Brett shooting 4 for 12 from the field and 3 for 7 from beyond the arc.

Bowling Green return to the floor Wednesday, Feb. 8 to take on the Ohio University Bobcats in Athens, Ohio.
