  • They Both Die at the End – General Review
Summer break is the perfect opportunity to get back into reading. Adam Silvera’s (2017) novel, They Both Die at the End, can serve as a stepping stone into the realm of reading. The pace is fast, action-packed, and develops loveable characters. Also, Silvera switches point of view each chapter where narration mainly focuses on the protagonists, […]
  • My Favorite Book – Freshwater
If there’s one book that I believe everyone should read once in their life, it’s my favorite book – Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi. From my course, Queer Literature under Dr. Bill Albertini, I discovered Emezi’s Freshwater (2018). Bowling Green men’s basketball’s junior guard DJ Smith has announced he has entered the transfer portal, according to verbalcommits.com.

Smith is the 68th Mid-American Conference player and the sixth Falcon to enter the transfer portal.

The North Little Rock, Arkansas, native played his first two collegiate seasons at Arkansas Little Rock before playing under Todd Simon at BG this past season.

During the 2023-2024 campaign, Smith played in just eight games, last appearing on the court on December 2 against Southern Indiana before missing the remainder of the season due to injury.

In his limited action wearing the Orange and Brown, Smith averaged 14.3 minutes, 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.5 steals per game. Smith shot 35.7% (10-28) from the field, 31.6% (6-19) on three-pointers and 100% (6-6) on free throws.

Smith joins EJay Greer, Rashaun Agee, PJ Edwards, Marcus Hill and Anthony McComb III as Falcons who have entered the transfer portal.

While Agee and Hill have transferred to the University of Southern California (USC) and North Carolina State University (NC State), respectively, Greer, Edwards and McComb III remain in the portal.
