The Bowling Green baseball team won 5-2 against the Miami RedHawks on Friday.

This home win continues the Falcons’ win streak at home with a record of 3-0.

It was a slow start for both teams, as neither team scored until Miami scored two in the top of the fourth.

The Falcons responded immediately as BG senior Nathan Rose scored a two-run home run, tying the game 2-2.

The Falcons scored in the bottom of the seventh with a senior Justin Fuggit home run expanding the Falcons’ lead to 3-2.

In the bottom of the eighth, Falcon senior Ryan Johnston found a gap in the left center, allowing BG first-year DJ Newman to push the lead to 4-2.

Later in the inning, Johnston expanded the lead to 5-2 with freshman Sam Siedel and senior Kyle Gurney drawing walks to load the bases.

The Falcons won 5-2 against the Miami RedHawks.

BG senior Gage Schenk completed a season-high seven innings for the Falcons and got his first win while tallying nine strikeouts when starting twice in a row.

Bowling Green has now won four games in a row for the first time this season.

The Falcons and RedHawks will conclude this series with a doubleheader Sunday at Steller Field.

Game one will start at 11 a.m. and game two starts 30 minutes after game one.
