Falcons in the NFL: Karl Brooks headed to Titletown

Rhys Patrykus, Sports Reporter, Falcon Media Sports Network

With the 179th pick in the 2023 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers selected defensive lineman Karl Brooks.

This puts him on a defensive line with multiple stars, including Rashaan Gary, Kenny Clark, and 2023 first-rounder Lukas Van Ness.

Brooks, a PFF first-team All-American, leaves BGSU with 27.5 sacks and 46 tackles for loss across five seasons.

He becomes the first Falcon to be drafted since WR Scotty Miller was picked in the sixth round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2019.

NOTABLE PLAYERS DRAFTED 179TH:

RB T.J. Logan, Arizona Cardinals (2017)

TE Desmond Clark, Denver Broncos (1999)

S Gene Atkins, New Orleans Saints (1987)
