The Student Recreation Center is hosting free martial arts classes for students, focusing on taijutsu.
Taijutsu is a traditional martial art focused on self-awareness and natural body movement for self-defense. It involves unarmed techniques for striking, kicking, blocking, grappling, and throwing, traditional weapon techniques and methods of evasion and escape from dangerous situations.
The classes will be in the Student Recreation Center classroom 188 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
BGSU Chief Well-Being Officer, Ben Batey, is instructing the class and has been a licensed instructor with over 20 years of experience. It is free and open to BGSU students, faculty and staff, 14 and up and any ability is welcome. No registration is required.
