BGSU student entrepreneurs will be pitching products and ideas to alumni judges at The Hatch on April 11 at 6 p.m. in the Schmeltz Atrium.
The Hatch is formatted similarly to “Shark Tank,” and is a 10-week program that brings business ideas from concept to stage to receive funding for development.
The Hatch includes 17 “hatchlings,” or students, from different majors within BGSU, and seven will present their ideas.
New this year, more than $30,000 in financial start-up funds will be awarded to the entrepreneurs with support from the Wood County Economic Development Commission and PNC.
Some ideas include an allergy-friendly protein bar, foldable travel products for infants and toddlers and, a family of products and handheld tools that float in water for easy retrieval when dropped and a cosmetology setting that provides inclusive hair designs and styles to LGBTQIA+ communities.
