BGSU baseball added another Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Week award to their trophy case as Gunner Antillon was honored with the award on Monday.
The senior shortstop became the first full MAC player of the Week for the Orange and Brown, joining Brady Birchmeier who was Co-Player of the Week on March 17 and Connar Penrod who notched Mac Pitcher of the Week on March 31.
Antillon tallied his first MAC honor of his BGSU career with a total stat line of 14 hits for six runs and 12 RBI’s with just a single strikeout.
On top of the extra-base hits, Antillon also notched his first career home run as a Falcon, hitting back-to-back homeruns against Purdue Fort Wayne on April 15 and Ball State on April 17.
Also in that Purdue Fort Wayne and Ball State stretch, the Rancho Cucamonga, California, native hit multiple doubles in each game, which was another first for this season.
Antillon transferred in from Cal Baptist College for the 2025 season, filling in nicely for the Falcons with 36 starts in his BGSU career through 38 games which is the second most among any player on the team, just behind Garrett Wright, who has 37 starts in 37 appearances.
The senior looks to ride a four-game hit streak into a Tuesday matchup against the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor on Tuesday April 22.
Falcon Media Sports Network’s Tyler Kavalecz and Noah Seely will have the call at 3:45 p.m. for pregame and 4 p.m. for first pitch on WBGU 88.1 FM.
