Gut Feeling, a Toledo based alternative rock and shoegaze band, recently played for a production of BGSU Live & Loud, filmed in the Michael and Sara Kuhlin Center.
Since the band began in 2018, they have has undergone several lineup changes “We’ve been doing this for seven years now… somehow we don’t hate each other,” laughed members Julian Hyatt and Nick Wagner.
The band’s name came from the 1978 Devo song: Gut Feeling / (Slap Your Mammy).
“One of our old members was a big Devo head… I think we tried covering it once, but it never worked,” said Hyatt, vocalist and guitarist.
Throughout their years together, the band has forged many traditions and stories to tell.
“For a brief period in time… every time we would go to a restaurant and find cheese curds on the menu, we would all try them and rate them together,” said Hyatt.
The group even celebrated the recording of their first single, Nostalgia, with cheese curds.
Gut Feeling’s music can be found on all major streaming platforms, and the latest news from the band can be found on their social media pages.
