The Mid-American Conference (MAC) tennis season has concluded, with both the men’s and women’s Toledo Rocket’s teams capturing the MAC Championship.
The number one ranked Toledo women’s team beat Eastern Michigan 4-2 in the quarterfinals and Miami OH by a score of 4-1 in the championship game.
Toledo dominated Miami OH in nearly every serve to clinch the tournament victory.
The Rockets won two matches in the doubles and three matches in the singles, with Cassie Alcala, Audrey Moutama and Sloane Teske all picking up victories in singles competition.
For the first time in team history, the Rockets are MAC women’s tennis champions.
Alcala was named the MAC tennis most valuable player for the 2023-24 season.
In addition to her successful season, Alcala recorded her 100th career win.
Both Alcala and Teske were named to the MAC-All Tournament team.
Toledo’s women’s team joined the third-ranked men’s team in championship glory, who captured their tournament on April 21st, by defeating Northern Illinois 4-0 and capturing the championship by defeating the number one ranked Western Michigan 4-1.
Toledo’s women’s team finishes the season with an 18-5 record, a 9-1 conference record, finishing 8-0 at home and their first MAC championship in team history.
