BGSU women’s tennis sophomore Tia Clemens was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Singles Player of the Week after two incredible weekend wins.
The Falcons’ number one singles player beat Ball State’s Elena Malykh, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 on Friday. She then topped Eastern Michigan’s Daniella Shved, 7-6 (9-7), 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (12-10) in one of the most exciting conference singles matchups of the season.
Clemens has won three straight matchups as the Orange & Brown’s top singles player and has been a huge bright spot during the team’s nine-game losing streak.
She is also a great person on the court, having won the 2023-2024 Leann Grimes Davidge Sportsmanship Award.
Clemens and Bowling Green will face Western Michigan on Friday, April 18, in their last regular-season matchup of the year.
