In last weeks’ column I talked a little bit about boots, so this week I am dedicating my whole column to boots. Now I don’t know about you, but boots are a must-have fall item for me. They can be casual or dressy and go with almost everything, like jeans, skirts or dresses. I have six pairs and love every one of them, especially my new riding boots.
Riding Boots are a large trend this year, you can see them in Seventeen’s Ultimate Style Guide and in almost every magazine you look at. I know some of you may be asking what riding boots are; they are lookalikes to the boots you see horseback riders wearing. They are so stylish and comfy, they are just what you want to update any simple outfit; like jeans and a blouse or a great dress.
Over the knee boots are also very big this year and look great with jeans and a pretty blouse or sweater. But, I don’t think I would pair them with a dress or skirt without having tights underneath. They look great either when worn in a laid back style or in a dressier style.
If you are looking for something that is chic and comfy, but not so high up on the leg, I would recommend an ankle boot or bootie. These cute little numbers look great in a heel or flat bottom and go almost like PB and J when paired with a dress. A new trend this fall is to wear your ankle boots with socks that are scrunched down a little bit, they are sure to keep your feet warm, while drawing all the attention to your booties.
To look for these wonderful styles for fall I would recommend going to DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) out at Westfield Mall in Toledo. This is where I purchased my Mia Elise Riding Boots ($99.95), they also have great over the knee boots and booties. Plus their prices are very moderate; I have never seen anything go over $200. You could also check out stores; such as Forever 21, Kohl’s, JcPenny, Dillards and many more.
As we keep moving into the colder months just remember boots will be your best friend. They are excellent at keeping your feet warm and still give you a great sense of style for this fall season. So go on all you fashionistas let your boots shine.
