Sixth District Court of Appeals hears case in Wood County

The Wood County Court of Common Pleas has announced that they will welcome the Sixth District Court of Appeals to hear in-person arguments in Wood County for the first time since 2018.

The appeals courthouse resides in Toledo, however, the trials will be taking place in Bowling Green at the Wood County courthouse.

Wood County Court of Common Pleas Judges Matthew Reger, Mary “Molly” Mack,  Joel Kuhlman and David Woessner will welcome a three-judge panel on Oct. 5. Sixth District Court of Appeals Judges Mark Pietrykowski, Thomas Osowik and Christine Mayle will make up the panel.

The Court of Appeals follows the Ohio Constitution where the court either affirms or reverses decisions, which create law. Ohio counties Erie, Fulton, Huron, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Williams and Wood are all under the jurisdiction of the court. The hearings will be open to the public at 10 a.m. and guests are advised to arrive twenty minutes ahead of time.

The cases that will be heard are:

  • Galloway v. Galloway
  • Medical Mutual Ohio v. FrontPath Health Coalition
  • State v. Roberts
  • Gina Salpietro v. Benjamin J. Salpietro Jr.
