Falcons Soar in 2023 Early Bird Open

BGSU Women’s Track didn’t waste any time getting off to a hot start in 2023, taking first place in the six-team Early Bird Invitational here at BGSU. 

Kailee Perry continued her dominant senior seasons in both cross country and track, as she took first place in the 1600 event, finishing a hair under five minutes with a time of 4:58:23. She also placed third in the 800-meter run, with a time of 2:20:51. 

Freshman Kylee Cubbison burst onto the scene, winning the 3k race with a time of 10:06:27 while teammate Olivia Collett took second with a time of 10:14:28. 

Senior Brianna Richard dominated in her two jump events, placing first in both the long jump (18-5.25) and the triple jump (40-7.50). Overall, the Falcons had four winners in individual races. 

Bowling Green’s final score of 111 just outpaced Eastern Michigan (110) and Central Michigan (103) for first place. Other finishers in the meet included Kent State (64, fourth), Buffalo (54, fifth), and Dayton (47, sixth). 

The squad is back in action next Friday as they head to the YSU Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Youngstown State University. The meet is scheduled to start at noon.
