ButterBurgers, cheese curds and frozen custard will be the newest food additions to the town of Bowling Green come this spring.

Culver’s is planning to open April 2023 on West Gypsy Lane Road, east of the Walmart entrance.

The Bowling Green Zoning Board of Appeals approved its variance in May of 2022. Construction on the site started in October, but had to come to a halt in November 2022 due to asphalt companies closing, said owner of the Bowling Green Culver’s, Ben Galaviz, to the BG Independent News

The restaurant comes just months after its recent location off of Fremont Pike in Perrysburg opened.

Galaviz told the BG Independent News the restaurant fits well in Ohio and it’s “where families come together.”

The variance came with some differing opinions, however, as the location would require six signs, which is more than the three-sign maximum allowed for a business under Bowling Green’s zoning code, said the BG Independent News.

Despite the conflict, zoning board members were able to vouch for the signs and give the restaurant permission to start construction.

Locals can expect a buzz around the new restaurant, as recent locations in Spring Meadows and Perrysburg have been met with long lines.
