BGSU’s first-ever Bachelor of Science in Nursing pinning ceremony will be Monday.

BGSU Track and Field competed this weekend at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet and was headlined by  two individual wins, one team win on Friday, and a top-five finish in school history in the distance medley relay on Saturday. 

On Friday, Zaresha Neal matched her own personal best and took first place in the shotput with a throw of 56-4.75.

In the 400 meter race, Jemeila Hunter set a new personal best while taking first place with a time of 56:34. 

In the 4×400 relay, the group of Darian Braddix, DaMya Barker, Bianca Staples, and Jemeila Hunter gave the Falcons a first-place finish with a time of 3:48:50. The mark was the eighth-fastest time in school history. 

Other top performers Friday included Braddix in the 200 meter (25:20, fourth place), Kylee Cubbison with a second place finish in the mile (4:58:89), and Katerina Shuble taking third place as well (4:49:00).

On Saturday, the relay team of Shuble, Cubbison, Raegan Burkey and Izzy Best finished with a time of 11:42:53, finishing in fourth-place and setting the fourth-highest mark in program history. 

The team rounds out their regular season indoor slate next Friday at the Silverston Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan.
