Bowling Green State University Softball ended their trip at the DePaul Dome Invitational yesterday in their game against Western Illinois. The Fighting Leathernecks held the Falcons scoreless throughout the game, winning 3-0.

Bowling Green had a great pitching performance from Hannah Davies. Davies went six and two thirds innings, giving up six hits and just one earned run. Davies also tallied six strikeouts to her line.

Western Illinois’ Savannah Rodriguez threw a complete game against the Falcons, only allowing three hits and racking up 11 strikeouts in the circle. Two of the three hits given up by Rodriguez came from Reagan Williamson, who had a solid two for three outing at the plate. Rodriguez also helped herself in this matchup by driving in two of the three runs the Fighting Leathernecks scored.

The DePaul Dome Invitational marked the opening weekend for Coach Fenton-Bockbrader and the Falcons. After this weekend, BG sits with a 2-3 overall record.

Bowling Green continues their season on Feb. 17 as the Falcons head down to Gainesville, FL for the T-Mobile Tournament. The first match-up is slated for a 10:30 start time against the Delaware State Hornets.
