Bowling Green Softball fell just short against the #3 Florida Gators losing 10-7.

The Falcons are the first team this season to not be run-ruled by the Gators.

Florida took over the first and second inning, scoring two runs and leading 4-0.

A huge third inning for the Falcons brought momentum to Bowling Green’s side.

Racking up four straight two-out hits that brought home four runs to tie the game 4-4.

BG’s Reagan Williamson, Ally Bezjak, and Peyton Dolejs all singled, bringing home a total of four Falcons to tie the game.

However, the Gators did not quit and scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning to retake the lead, going up 6-4.

Pitcher Hannah Davies kept Bowling Green in the game, only allowing minimal damage.

Davies pitched a scoreless fourth inning that brought momentum back to the Falcon dugout.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Falcons poured on three runs to take the lead 7-6.

This marked the first time the Gators have trailed this season.

Bezjak came through again for the Falcons as she would single to score two runs that tied the game.

Sophomore Winnie Reid stepped up to the plate and gave Bowling Green the lead.

In the bottom of the 5th inning, Davies found herself in a bases-loaded two-out jam with just a one-run lead.

The Gators brought up their clean-up hitter Charla Echols, who hit a bases-clearing double and gave the Gators a 9-7 lead.

To seal the deal, Florida added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Coach Fenton and the Falcons fall to 3-5 in the young season.

Bowling Green will finish out the T-Mobile Tournament on Sunday as they take on the University of Connecticut Huskies.
