BGSU Men’s Basketball Fall to Rockets in tight Battle of I-75

There is nothing better than a rivalry game.

The Bowling Green men’s basketball team (10-17, 4-10 MAC) fell 91-86 to the Toledo Rockets (21-6, 12-2 MAC) on Saturday.

The loss is the fourth straight defeat in the rivalry for the Falcons. Their last win came on February 13, 2021.

Toledo leads the all-time series 97-83.

In the second half, neither team lead by more than five points.

At the 7:45 mark, guard Ra,Heim Moss tallied up a three-pointer to give the Rockets the advantage for the rest of the game.

Toledo junior RayJ Dennis finished a monster night with 27 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

For the Falcons, they saw most of their shots go in,  but they were not able to match with UT defensively.

Toledo shot 51% from the floor, and 11-12 from three.

Falcon guard Kaden Metheny finished with 16 points and seven assists.

BG senior Samari Curtis led the team with 18 points.

Saturday’s defeat extends the orange and brown’s losing streak to seven.

BGSU will look to put an end to the skid at Miami (OH) on Feb. 21.
