The Falcons placed fifth out of seven teams at the MAC gymnastics championship on Saturday.

Senior Taylor Jensen won the beam event with a score of 9.900.

With this score originally shared by Jensen and sophomore Kathryn Weilbacher, a technicality in scoring ended up dropping Weilbacher to fourth place in the event.

This was Jensen’s first MAC Championship individual title, but it was also Bowling Green’s first since 2019.

In addition, with the Falcons placing fifth, this is their highest placing in the MAC Championship since 2019.

Jensen also led the Falcons in the vault event, scoring a 9.875 and placing second overall.

Freshman Isabella Rivelli led the way on the bars, scoring a 9.900, tying her current PR.

The highest Falcon scorer for the floor exercise and the all-around was Weilbacher, who logged a 9.800 and a 39.100 respectively.

Bowling Green took home one individual title and 195.450 points on the day. During awards, Jensen was given a spot in the 2023 MAC All-Tournament Team.

After a productive MAC championship, Head Coach Kerrie Turner expressed the pride she has in her team.

“I am really proud of the effort by the team today,” said Turner. “ They really put four events together on the same day, which is tough to do at MACs with seven rotations going all on at once. We have seen them battle all season and really crush it here at the end.”

From here, the gymnastics season moves to the NCAA where regionals will take place next week.
