The Bowling Green baseball team won 3-2 against the Central Michigan Chippewas on Saturday.

The Falcons and Chippewas were set for game two of this three-game series with BG taking game one just a day earlier.

Central Michigan wasted no time getting started scoring one run in the bottom of the second.

It wasn’t until the top of the fourth that senior Nathan Rose tied the game on a solo home run.

CMU retook the lead in the bottom half of the fourth on a fielder’s choice making it 2-1.

The top of the eighth inning is when the fun began in Mount Pleasant.

Freshman Sam Seidel’s hit with one out was supposed to put him at third base.

However, an interference call was issued, resulting in Seidel getting ejected.

The ejection fired up the dugout, pumping up the team to strive for victory.

In the bottom of the eighth, two quick strikeouts and a walk later set up senior Kyle Gurney to throw out the runner attempting to steal to end the inning.

The top of the ninth saw the Falcons still trailing the Chippewas by 1.

Rose started the inning by getting on base on a four-pitch walk

He then advanced into scoring position on a wild pitch.

Senior Tyler Ross’s groundout advanced Rose to third base.

Sophomore Nathan Archer then reached base on an error while Rose crossed the plate tying things up.

In the next at-bat, sophomore Gavin Ganun ripped a base hit up the middle to score Archer from first base and push the Falcons out in front 3-2.

In the bottom of the ninth, the Chippewas went 1-2-3 ending the game with the Falcons taking it 3-2.

Sophomore Nic Good was credited for the win, pitching three shutout innings.

This marks the first time since 2015 that the Falcons won a series against CMU.

The Falcons have now won eight of their last nine games putting themselves at 11-13 overall and a winning record in MAC play at 6-5.

The last time BGSU won eight games over a nine-game span was the 2014 season.

The Falcons and Chippewas will finish off the weekend series on Sunday with a 2 p.m. first pitch.
