Wellness Connection hosts annual SAAM 5K and Dog Walk

The Wellness Connection hosts the annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) 5K and Dog Walk Fundraiser Saturday, April 15, according to BGSU. 

The fundraiser will begin at the Student Recreation Center with the sign-in opening at 9 a.m.

The 5K will start at 10 a.m. and the dog walk starts at 10:15 a.m. 

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Center for Violence Prevention and The Cocoon. 

The Cocoon and the Center for Violence Prevention are organizations that work to provide emotional support and intervention to those who have been victims of stalking, sexual assault, harassment and sex trafficking, according to BGSU. 

Those who register will receive a free SAAM 5K and Dog Walk t-shirt and a free dog bandana to those who sign-up with their pet.

Participation for students is $15 and $20 for the public, according to BGSU. 

At the end of the race, there will be various prizes for all ages in competitive categories.
