The Bowling Green baseball team was defeated by the Kent State Golden Flashes 10-1 in the second game of a three-game series.

Kent State began the first inning with infielder Kyle Jackson hitting a home run off a pitch from BG starting pitcher Peyton Wilson.

The struggles continued at the top of the first for the Orange and Brown as the Golden Flashes extended their lead 4-0.

BG couldn’t respond at the bottom of the first, and Kent State capitalized with another home run to put the Golden Flashes up 5-0.

Senior Ryan Johnson grounded out and brought freshman DJ Newman back to home plate, getting the Falcons on the board for the first time.

Despite BGSU having some momentum heading into the third, Kent State continued their dominating performance for the rest of the game.

The Golden Flashes scored five more runs to finish the game against the Falcons 10-1.

Johnston was the lone Falcon to record an RBI. The Orange and Brown also saw six pitches take the mound in the loss.

The Falcons will look to avoid the sweep as they meet the Golden Flashes at Steller Field once more for the series’ final game on April 9, starting at 1 p.m.
