The Bowling Green softball team (8-25, 1-12 MAC) fell 9-0 against Miami (21-14, 9-6 MAC) on Tuesday.

With this loss, the Falcons are now on a 10-game losing streak.

BGSU starting pitcher Hannah Davies worked out of a jam with multiple Miami runners on base to end both of the first two innings.

Miami only registered two hits through the first and second innings, while the Falcons registered zero.

In the third inning, Miami’s Karli Spaid launched a homer to center to get the RedHawks on the board and take a 1-0 lead.

RedHawks infielder Holly Blaska then hit a single to left center that scored senior Kate Kobayashi, giving Miami a two-run lead.

After a scoreless fourth inning, Spaid scored again off a double down the right-field line hit by Blaska, who then took second.

MU sophomore Jenna Golembiewski got her first hit of the afternoon, allowing Blaska to score the RedHawks’ fourth run of the day.

In the sixth inning, infielder Allie Cummins scored off of another Spaid hit that led to a single down to right field, making it 5-0 Miami.

The Redhawks scored four runs in the seventh and final inning.

Spaid launched her second home run of the afternoon in the bottom of the seventh, solidifying a 9-0 win for the RedHawks.

Next up, the Falcons will host the RedHawks for a double header tomorrow April 12th, with the first game set for 1:00 p.m. and the second at 3:30 p.m.
