BGSU Men’s Golf finishes ninth at MAC Championship

The Bowling Green men’s golf team finished in ninth place at the MAC Championship in Athens, Alabama, shooting 40 over par.

Northern Illinois won the MAC Championship, picking up their first conference crown since 1985.

The Huskies shot five over par, beating out second-place Ball State by four strokes.

For the Falcons, their top two finishers tied for 18th place.

Sophomore Darin Hudak and junior Brandon Rattray both shot seven over throughout the 54-hole tournament.

Rattray finished third in the par-5 competition, shooting six under on them.

Hudak finished fourth for birdies with 11 in total.

BG senior Dylan Fitichet was the third Falcon finisher as he ended his career with a 31st place finish overall, shooting 12 over par.

Fitchet finished second in the eagle competition, having had two of them throughout the tournament.

Rounding out the Falcons was sophomore Connor Gdovin, finishing 37th, shooting 14 over par.

For the Falcons, this ends their 2022–2023 season, and they will head into the offseason preparing for the 2023–2024 season.
