Bowling Green State University will host award-winning author and music critic, Alex Ross, on Jan. 9 as part of the 2024 Hansen Musical Arts Series.
Ross has been a music critic for the New Yorker since 1996, focusing on classical music, as well as contributed essays on literature, history, the visual arts, film and ecology, according to the press release.
His first book, “The Rest is Noise: Listening to the Twentieth Century,” won a National Book Critics Circle Award, the Guardian First Book Award and was a Pulitzer Prize finalist.
Ross has received multiple awards, including the George Peabody Medal, an Arts and Letters Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship and a MacArthur Fellowship.
The event will be at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall in the Moore Musical Arts Center. It will be a free, public presentation and attendees will have the opportunity to meet with Ross.
