For teams that didn’t make postseason tournaments, as well as those that did, the MAC postseason awards are a great way to celebrate players that were standout performers in the regular season. Every team has at least one player selected to an All-MAC team or to a specialty award and I will highlight those selections below.
Ball State (4 selections)
- Ally Becki (senior, guard) (MAC Player of the Year, All-MAC First Team, MAC All-Defensive Team)
- Marie Kiefer (senior, forward) (MAC Defensive Player of the Year, MAC All-Defensive Team)
- Alex Richard (senior, forward) (All-MAC Second Team)
- Brady Sallee (Coach of the Year)
What Stands Out: Sallee won coach of the year for the first time in his 13th year at Ball State and Becki won MAC Player of the Year to cap off her historic career in Muncie.
Toledo (4 selections)
- Nan Garcia (graduate student, guard/forward) (MAC Sixth Player of the Year)
- Sammi Mikonowicz (graduate student, guard/forward) (All-MAC Second Team)
- Kendall Carruthers (sophomore, guard) (All-MAC Honorable Mention)
- Faith Fedd-Robinson (freshman, guard) (MAC All-Freshman Team)
What Stands Out: Toledo tied with Bowling Green for the most players selected in the conference. Also, as young rising underclassmen, Carruthers and Fedd-Robinson could be the best guard duo in the conference next year.
Bowling Green (4 selections)
- Amy Velasco (senior, guard) (All-MAC First Team)
- Lexi Fleming (fifth-year, guard) (All-MAC Third Team)
- Paige Kohler (sophomore, guard) (All-MAC Honorable Mention)
- Johnea Donahue (freshman, guard) (MAC All-Freshman Team, MAC All-Defensive Team)
What Stands Out: Bowling Green tied with Toledo for the most players selected despite finishing in sixth place in the conference this year.
Buffalo (3 selections)
- Chellia Watson (redshirt senior, guard) (All-MAC First Team)
- Kirsten Lewis-Williams (sophomore, guard) (All-MAC Second Team)
- Noelani Cornfield (fifth-year, guard) (MAC All-Defensive Team)
What Stands Out: Chellia Watson made the All-MAC First team but was close to winning MAC Player of the Year as the league’s leading scorer.
Kent State (2 selections)
- Jenna Batsch (senior, guard) (All-MAC First Team)
- Janae Tyler (sophomore, forward) (All-MAC Honorable Mention)
What Stands Out: Senior center Bridget Dunn missed out on the MAC All-Defensive Team despite leading the league in defensive rebounding and ranking second in blocks.
Miami (2 selections)
- Enjulina Gonzalez (sophomore, guard) (All-MAC First Team)
- Amber Tretter (sophomore, forward) (All-MAC Honorable Mention)
What Stands Out: Gonzales was the only non-senior selected to the All-MAC First Team.
Central Michigan (2 selections)
- Madi Morson (freshman, guard) (MAC Freshman of the Year, All-MAC Second Team, MAC All-Freshman Team)
- Ayanna-Sarai Darrington (freshman, forward) (MAC All-Freshman Team)
What Stands Out: The Chippewas should be competitive for years to come with their freshman duo of Morson and Darrington leading the way. Morson was tied with Ally Becki for the most awards won by a single player this season (three).
Western Michigan (2 selections)
- Hannah Spitzley (graduate student, guard) (All-MAC Third Team, MAC All-Defensive Team)
- Marina Asensio (junior, guard) (All-MAC Honorable Mention)
What Stands Out: Asensio will probably have to carry the offensive workload next year with Spitzley graduating if the Broncos are to remain in the mix for tournament seeding.
Northern Illinois (2 selections)
- Chelby Koker (graduate student, guard) (All-MAC Third Team)
- Lexi Carlsen (freshman, guard) (MAC All-Freshman Team)
What Stands Out: Carlsen is one of the most talented sharpshooters in the MAC, ranking second in the conference in three-point percentage this season.
Akron (1 selection)
- Shelbee Brown (redshirt senior, forward) (All-MAC Third Team)
What Stands Out: Brown was one of the best transfers in the MAC this year. The former Memphis Tiger was sixth in the MAC in rebounding and 11th in scoring.
Ohio (1 selection)
- Kennedi Watkins (senior, guard) (All-MAC Third Team)
What Stands Out: Watkins was an offensive bright spot for the Bobcats, ranking eighth individually in the MAC in scoring albeit on the 11th-ranked team offense.
Eastern Michigan (1 selection)
- Sisi Eleko (junior, forward) (All-MAC Second Team)
What Stands Out: Eleko was the only player this season in the top-five in the MAC in both scoring and rebounding.
