Former BGSU women’s basketball sophomore guard/forward Keiryn McGuff announced on social media that she has committed to the University of Akron to continue her college basketball career on Monday.
McGuff spent the last two seasons with the Falcons, appearing in 38 games and making 11 starts. The Dublin, Ohio, native averaged 2.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in her time in BG.
This past season, she missed the start of the year due to injury but worked her way into Fred Chmiel’s starting five for nine games.
She scored double-digit points three times throughout the season.
Last season, Akron finished 10-21 overall and 4-14 in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play and fell shy of a MAC Tournament appearance.
At 6-feet tall, McGuff will be tied for the third tallest player on the Zips’ team.
