Two Bowling Green State University (BGSU) seniors worked on designing a custom BGSU-branded gift for Super Bowl-winning coach Jon Gruden. Both visual communication technology majors (VCT), Andrew Spade and Bryce Keen, saw their box opened on one of Gruden’s unboxing videos, which was packed with Falcon merch via BGSU Athletics.
The box was created with the help of Dynamic Dies Inc., known for its ongoing partnership with the university. Both Spade and Keen were working on co-ops at the packaging company.
BGSU’s Director of Athletics, Derek van der Merwe, proposed the idea to associate professor Donna Trautman of the VCT program. The program’s connection to Dynamic Dies, Inc. made it easy for their leadership to help support the project. It was an opportunity to showcase the industry-academia partnerships that provide real-world learning experiences.
