The reigning NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey National Championship winning Denver Pioneers officially announced their schedule for the 2026-27 season on Thursday, April 22 via Twitter/X.
Included in the schedule was a series against BGSU at the Slater Family Ice Arena.
The Falcons will host the Pioneers for a weekend series on Jan 1 and 2 at the Slater Family Ice Arena next season.
This will be the fourth ever meeting between the two teams and the first time Denver will make the trip to Bowling Green.
It will also be the first matchup between the two teams in over 25 seasons with the last meeting occurring on Dec 28 of the 2001-02 season.
In the three previous meetings between the two teams, Bowling Green has collected a 0-3-0 record via 9-3 and 7-0 losses during the 1969-70 season and a 3-1 loss in the 2001-02 season.
Bowling Green is coming off an 18-11-7 season that ended in the first round of the CCHA Mason Cup Playoffs. Denver is fresh off a 29-11-3 season the concluded with the Pioneers defeating Wisconsin 2-1 to claim their third national championship in five seasons (10th national championship total).
BGSU is yet to officially announce their complete schedule for next season.
