City Council passed two ordinances unanimously on Tuesday night — and they did it in 10 minutes.
The first ordinance authorizes annexation of 2.4 acres of land in Plain Township for planning, zoning and economic development. The second ordinance establishes interim zoning for the property located at the northwest corned of North Main Street and Newtown Road, recently annexed to the city.
After beginning the meeting promptly at 7 p.m., Council President Mike Aspacher, Third Ward council member, moved for adjournment at approximately 7:10 p.m. The brief meeting was the result of no reports from public officials aside from Mayor Richard Edwards, zero residents speaking during lobby time and limited debate over the legislation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Second Ward Council Member John Zanfardino was also sworn in after voluntarily stepping down from Council president.
He was replaced by Aspacher during the Jan. 6 meeting, who was voted in unanimously.
