Bowling Green certainly had a strong chance to take down the #14 team in the country on Saturday, but fell just short in five thrilling sets.
On Sunday, they took care of business.
The Falcons used strong late set runs, including a 10-1 run in the third set, to take down the Northern Kentucky Norse in straight sets.
BGSU won the sets 25-22, 25-21, and 25-23 respectively.
Budding star and freshman Amanda Otten recorded another dominant performance, putting up a double-double with 17 assists and 13 kills. Sophomore Lauryn Hovey followed Otten in kills with 10.
The underappreciated impact from the match came from senior libero Alex Laboy, whose four aces sparked multiple rallies throughout the course of the match.
For the Norse, Joy Banks led the way on the offensive end with 10 kills, eight digs and a pair of blocks. Torie Houston paced the Norse in assists with 23.
Up next now for the orange and brown is the Hampton Inn Invitational at the Stroh Center, where the Falcons will face Loyola Chicago, Texas A&M, and Wright State on Thursday, Friday and Saturday respectively.
