Former BGSU women’s soccer midfielder Lexi Czerwien has signed her first professional contract to play for Fjarðabyggð of the Besta delid kvenna, the first tier of women’s soccer in Iceland.
The Michigan native had a career offensive year in her third and final season with Bowling Green in 2024, scoring five goals and earning one assist, leading the Falcon squad with 11 total points.
Czerwien played in 55 games through three years with the Falcons, accumulating over 4,000 career minutes and serving as a team captain in 2023 and 2024.
Before BG, Czerwien spent two years with the Xavier Musketeers, where she appeared in 12 matches, including seven in 2021 before coming to Bowling Green for her final three years of college.
Czerwien is the second BGSU player to get signed to an Icelandic club in the past year, joining former Falcon Katie Cox who signed with UMF Sindri in Höfn, Iceland in April of 2024.
