BGSU softball’s Morgan Beckham was honored by the Mid-American Conference as the MAC Pitcher of the Week for her efforts in Bowling Green’s series win over Western Michigan. The honor is Beckham’s first MAC award of her collegiate career.
In 7.2 innings pitched against Western Michigan, the Falcon freshman posted no runs allowed on one hit, four strikeouts, and two walks. She also earned herself a win through her start in the second game of the series, missing a save in the final game by an extra run scored by the offense in a 4-0 victory.
“They both have potential to do really great things,” said head coach Michelle Gardner about her freshman pitchers Beckham and Sydney Marshall. “I’m just really proud of them because [the game] was challenging and Morgan [Beckham] did a great job coming into that game because she threw the game before.”
In MAC play, Beckham has the best ERA of any Falcon (3.05), the most appearances, and strikeouts. Her conference ERA is the lowest of any Falcon starter since Peyton Gottshall in 202 and Meredith Miller before then in 2019. She has given up three or fewer runs in every appearance since Ball State on March 29, recording no earned runs five times in a combined 10.1 innings.
Beckham is the second Falcon to earn MAC Pitcher of the Week honors in 2025 with junior Mackenzie Krafcik on March 25. She is the third Falcon to earn MAC weekly honors behind Krafcik and redshirt freshman third baseman Addie Martin, also on March 25.
The Falcons next play at Central Michigan in a weekend series starting on Friday, April 18. Falcon Media Sports Network will have a preview and recaps available at bgfalconmedia.com.
