Parking data of various Ohio universities

BG Falcon Media filed a public records request, seeking parking data from various colleges in Ohio. In an effort to make that data accessible to the public, you can find that data below.

The Request for Data

Parking Data Request

I am reaching out on behalf of BG Falcon Media to submit a request for information regarding the Wright State parking and transportation services over the past five years.        

Specifically, we are looking for information regarding the following information, broken down by semester (Fall, Spring & Summer) for each of the past five academic years and the data available for the current (Fall 2023) semester:

  1. The number of parking passes sold, categorized bypass type (e.g., Faculty, On-campus students, Commuter students), along with the revenue generated from the sale of these passes.
  2. The total number of parking spots designated for pass holders, categorized bypass type as mentioned above.
  3. The total number of parking citations/violations issued, along with the total revenue generated from these citations.
  4. The total number of vehicles booted and towed, along with the associated revenue from these enforcement actions.
  5. The total revenue collected from fines paid by violators.
  6. The total revenue generated from payable (metered or pay-to-park) parking spots.
  7. The number of individuals employed by the Parking Services Department, including the total amount paid to these employees.

Previous Work

Pierce has reported for BG Falcon Media and specifically written articles for the weekly BG News. Pierce's favorite article reported for BG Falcon Media was on the increase of Electric Vehicles in the Bowling Green community. The article can be found here.  He also completed a promotions internship with BG Falcon Radio, organizing events and campaigns to spread awareness of the organization on campus. Pierce currently works with WTVG-TV, beginning in the Summer of 2023 as a Digital Content Producer. Some of his work with the organization can be found here.
