  • They Both Die at the End – General Review
Summer break is the perfect opportunity to get back into reading. Adam Silvera’s (2017) novel, They Both Die at the End, can serve as a stepping stone into the realm of reading. The pace is fast, action-packed, and develops loveable characters. Also, Silvera switches point of view each chapter where narration mainly focuses on the protagonists, […]
  • My Favorite Book – Freshwater
If there’s one book that I believe everyone should read once in their life, it’s my favorite book – Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi. From my course, Queer Literature under Dr. Bill Albertini, I discovered Emezi’s Freshwater (2018). Once more, my course, Creative Writing Thesis Workshop under Professor Amorak Huey, was instructed to present our favorite […]

Severe weather possible today

According to the National Weather Service, there is an “enhanced” risk of severe weather late Tuesday afternoon into the evening.

The most recent NWS forecast states “Damaging wind gusts, large hail, and tornadoes are possible and locally heavy rain cannot be ruled out.” The hazardous weather warning spans Wood County including Bowling Green, as well as Hancock, Seneca, Wyandot, Crawford, Marion, Morrow, and Knox counties.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for clear skies and temperatures around 80 degrees while the remainder of the week includes a chance of showers.

Recent consistent rainfall has already delayed the planting of some crops in Ohio’s rural communities. Despite the rain, Brian Mitchell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Cleveland, told the Mansfield Journal 13.68 inches of rain fell since the beginning of the year.

“Normal is 14.02 inches,” Mitchell told the Journal. “So we’re .34 inches below normal on the year.”
